Meet Renae

I am a Registered Psychologist with a Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology and eight years experience in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of people across the lifespan. I grew up in Newcastle, and re-located to Melbourne a decade ago to continue my learning and explore a new city.

Since first registering in the psychology profession in 2018, I have worked in Melbourne and regional Victoria, gaining experience across private practice, young mental health not-for-profit settings, as well as public and private schools. While I began my career supporting adults, I have found my passion in working with children, adolescents and families to expand their understanding, resources, and strengths in adapting to the challenges in their lives.

In my clinical practice, I provide a holistic blend of:

  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills (DBT Skills)

  • Mindfulness.

My neuroaffirming and trauma-informed lens also aims to provide a safe and inclusive space for both young person and parent when entering my therapeutic space.

When I’m out of the clinic, I can usually be found running, reading, learning to play golf, and trying to convince Novocastrians on the merits of AFL footy.

A young woman with long blonde hair sitting on the floor in a room decorated with mental health and relaxation posters on the wall. She is smiling and holding a colorful plush toy. There is a white bookshelf with books and items, and a patterned blanket on the floor.

Whether it’s through games, creative activities, or chatting about the things they care about, I focus on building a strong connection with the young people I work with.

For kids and teens, therapy doesn’t have to feel formal. I use curiosity, humour, and flexibility to get to know their interests, strengths, and how they see the world.

Creating a space where they feel safe, respected, and supported to grow.
